It’s always good to work on hitting, throwing and fielding but you’ll get lots of practice with that during the season. Now it’s time to focus on general conditioning and fitness so your body is in better shape before focusing on the skills of the game.

Like many field sports, baseball is a game based on short sprints starting from a stationary position. You need lower body strength to build that explosion of power at the start. Working on squats and deadlifts in the gym will help to build the lower body strength needed for those quick starts. Reaction sprints are another great way to train the body and mind to think and move quickly. To work on base running use colour coded cards or signals to tell the runner either to sprint or go back. Try to avoid getting into a pattern when showing the cards or signals so the runner can’t predict what you’re going to do next.

Core strength is vital to batting so developing explosive rotational power in your core is crucial. Rotational med

and The Role of a Registered Physiotherapist in Your Personal Health and Fitness Plan

Hamilton Chiropractor and PhysiotherapyA Physiotherapist is a health care professional who performs specialized assessments and treatments on patients with restricted mobility and who are unable to take part in day to day tasks due to health issues or medical problems. Through physiotherapy a patient is prescribed exercises, and therapy programs to aid in recovery, treatment and to help develop a healthier lifestyle. Working with a registered physiotherapist will help patients move directly affected or indirectly affected body parts that have lost functionality. This type of therapy can also prevent the onset of certain types of disease and injury. Physiotherapy is used alongside other treatments as an important rehabilitation method for illnesses that restrict movement
and mobility and the service can be provided in a number of locations including but not limited to hospitals, clinics and sports facilities.

Physiotherapy focuses on pain relief, treating an injury or condition and preventing it from worsening.
The second stage of treatment is helping the patient build strength, increase range of motion and
regaining the ability to perform everyday tasks that had become difficult. Since the long-term goal of
physiotherapy is to help a patient obtain optimal health and well-being it is important to seek therapy
shortly after an injury in order to speed up recovery time and get the body back to proper functional
performance.

Why Get Pre-Approved?

The lender will also fix the interest rate, which is usually good for between 60 and 90 days – a few lenders will guarantee that rate for up to 120 days. And if a better rate promotion occurs during your fixed period, you will eligible for that as well.

It is likely the pre-approval will lead to a mortgage but there have been situations when this has not been the case. The best way for you to ensure success is to understand what the lenders look for and be prepared. Another way is to work with your mortgage broker who can flag any potential challenges and steer you toward the right lender to fit your particular situation.

First of all, a lender will determine your debt load through two simple calculations: Gross Debt Service Ratio (GDS) and Total Debt Service Ratio (TDS). Your GDS is your proposed housing costs, including mortgage payments, taxes, heating costs and 50 per cent of condo fees, if applicable and shouldn’t be more than 32 per cent of your gross monthly income. Kids Know It All

Try using these childhood behaviours more often and see the changes it brings to your life.

Eating
Eating the same foods that we feed toddlers will help control your calorie intake and can prevent weight gain. This is particularly true when it comes to what we give our young children for a snack as they are often healthier and more satisfying than the adult alternatives. Frozen grapes, mashed bananas and reduced-fat yogurt are great snacks for you and your child. When it comes to eating kids will also stop when they are full, unlike adults who keep eating until their plates are clean. Adults will do this even if they have had enough. If you start eating like a kid, grazing until you’re 90% full, you’ll feel healthier and may even notice some weight loss.

Exercise
Kids don’t dread exercise. Most of them don’t even know what a workout is, yet they’re healthy and full of energy. Kids burn calories in ways that are fun. Playing tag, jumping rope or climbing on the playground ar

Following these tips when completing your spring cleaning will help get the job done faster and relatively stress-free.

  • Make a plan on how you’re going to tackle your spring cleaning and stick with it.
  • Start by walking through each room in the house and make a note of everything that needs to be cleaned or organized.
  • Work on one room at a time so you don’t get too overwhelmed.
  • Don’t forget about the outside of your house, the yard, shed or garage. You may want to save the warmer days for these jobs so you can enjoy the outdoors and still get some work done.
  • On rainy spring days when you’re stuck inside pick a room or a cleaning project to work on.
  • Remember to clean all the areas that are often forgotten and areas that aren’t seen, like the tops of doorways, ceiling fans and behind furniture.
  • Start at the top and work your way down. Remove cobwebs on the ceiling with an extendable vacuum hose or by attaching a rag to a broom handle.
  • When cleaning the kitchen clear out the frid

Healthy Smile

Not everyone has dental coverage in their health plan and even the most routine procedures can cost hundreds of dollars at the dentist. To keep your teeth healthy and your smile bright make oral hygiene a priority and routine.

Brushing and flossing daily will prevent nearly all dental health problems. It only takes a few minutes and if you develop a routine oral hygiene will become a habit that you won’t want to give up. Developing this healthy habit will reduce the time and trips you make to the dentist. Although regular checkups are recommended, a good routine will allow your visits to be short and sweet. Checkups help to keep you on track and your dentist is able to catch any problems before they become too large and too expensive.

Brushing

  • Brush your teeth twice a day preferably after meals to remove food left behind.
  • Brush every surface of your tooth.
  • Make sure you brush for at least 60 seconds.
  • Use a fluoride toothpaste no matter what your age.
  • Hold your toothbrush at

These tips to staying active on a rainy day will help keep your spirits up until the next sunny day.

Activities for Kids
If you have children at home on rainy days it can be increasingly difficult to motivate them while staying positive yourself. In these instances you’ll have to get creative. Keeping things fun and enjoying the time with your kids will enhance everyone’s mood and keep you all happy. Sitting in front of the TV may be fine for short period of time but will ultimately bring you and your kids down and can even hinder their learning. Better activities for kids during a rainy day are going to the library and getting them to choose their own book, work on a scrapbook, or try a new craft or recipe. Choose something that they are interested in so they’ll stay focused on the task. For example, if your son is interested in Dinosaurs bake cookies in the shape of his favourite Dinosaur and have him talk about why he likes them while you’re baking.

Where to Start
Once you know you’re ready to start an exercise regime think about what you’ll feel most comfortable doing. If you’re not ready to sign up for a gym just yet start small. Walking is an excellent low impact way to become active and start losing weight. Walking everyday can make a huge difference on your fitness level if you’ve not done anything previously. The best part is that it’s accessible to anyone and can be done in your own time.

Once you feel more confident the next step may be trying some fitness videos at home. Start with ones for beginners and work your up to more advanced workouts. At home workouts are great because they are inexpensive and you don’t have to go anywhere to do them. Plus in the beginning you may feel uncoordinated so doing at home videos means no one will see you. Before long you’ll start getting the hang of things, the weight will be coming off and you’ll feel more confident with your ability.

Off to the Gym
Once you’re ready to tr
